Joke from 1888 newspaper
There were visitors at the Shinner school the other day and a class was put on exhibition.
"Now" said the teacher "can you tell me anything about heat"
A small boy held up his hand.
"Well, sir" said the teacher
"Heat expands; cold contracts"
"Very good; no give an example"
"In summer the days are long; in winter the days are short"
Great applause by the visitors and the small boy took his seat.
